naval operation

1.) The process of carrying on or training for naval combat in order to gain the objectives of any battle or campaign.

2.) A naval action (or the performance of a naval mission) that may be strategic, operational, tactical, logistic, or training.

In the United States, military vocabulary is standardized by the Department of Defence. These terms are used by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
